Busy Work

Posted in Green, Tutorials with tags , on June 8, 2010 by Angie

It’s been a weekend of making craft fair items and contemplating how to keep my crafts ‘green.’  I plan on attending an October craft fair, and I am trying to turn out some of the usual fair…dishcloths, dolls, etc.

Today, while playing with some cotton yarn, I decided to make a quick disc (no fancy or borrowed pattern here…just the average garden-variety crocheted circle). The absorbent cotton and circular size is reminiscent of those disposable, over-the-counter facial cleanser pads. So, I thought I’d share a quick, ‘green’ pattern for an eco-friendly makeup remover pad.

I used 100% cotton yarn and a size I crochet hook.

Free Pattern for Peacock Applique

Posted in Tutorials, Uncategorized with tags on June 2, 2010 by Angie

Today, I am offering a free pattern download for a quick and easy peacock applique.

When putting this together, I had wool felt in mind for the project, therefore the pattern is made up of exact specs for the pieces, with no extra seam allowances for use with other fabrics. However, don’t stress!  Just add about 1/2″ of extra fabric around the pattern for a seam allowance.

Hope it turns out to be fun for you!  Please send us some feedback. We value your opinion!  Also, we’d love to see your own creative touch. Send us a picture if you use the pattern for an applique!  Download here.
